(1)2004年上半年，苏州国芯公司成为国内不靠政府投资而能赢利的微处理器公司之一。
(2)2004年3月，方舟科技公司与美国慧智公司结为战略联盟，标志“方舟”嵌入式微处理器开始打入国际市场。
(3)2003年底，“北大众志-863CPU系统芯片”大规模量化生产和完全市场化。
(4)2004年上半年，神州龙芯公司推出高性能的“龙芯1号”和“龙芯2号”CPU。
(5)2004年3月上旬，清华大学研制出拥有自主知识产权的CPU THUMP，最高主频500MHz。
(6)上海交通大学相继研制成功“汉芯二号”、“汉芯三号”DSP芯片。
