Background |
Portable consumer electronic products are gradually replacing traditional electronic products, as the consumption target of choice. According to statistics, in 2007, the proportion of portable products will account for 54 percent in global consumer electronics production, and the trend will become more pronounced in the next few years.The annual mobile phone production in China will amount to more than 550 million units in 2007, and The State Council of China’s has abolished the prerequisite approval of handset production, which undoubtedly facilitates for the entry of more enterprises into the field of mobile phone manufacturing.
The support of various components is dispensable for the developing and manufacturing of portable devices. With the continuous modularization process, and more and more module products for various applications are emerging. Product design is facing many tradeoffs, such as performance and power, function and volume and price, and so on. These tradeoffs are not irreconcilable, and instead designers need to find points of balance. So where are these points?
In 2008, China's mobile equipment market will face double incentive: 3G’s large-scale commercial deployment and Beijing Olympic Games, which may also be the excellent opportunity to the major manufacturers.
